Frequently asked questions
  ■ How can I make an appointment for an interview and / or treatment? The intake interviews and treatments are available on certain days. Find out below, or make an appointment via 043-308 9038. We can also give you a price estimate during the intake interview.
■  Is the treatment suitable for all skin types? The CO2 laser is the most suitable for lighter skin types (skin type 1 t / m 4). With darker skin pigmentation shift may occur.
■ How many treatments are needed? Usually 1, 2 or 3 treatments are needed. This depends on the condition that needs to be treated, the region that needs to be treated, specific wishes and the type of disorder. During the interview we can advise you personally.
■  How long does the treatment take? This depends on the area that needs to be treated. The treatment of a single skin lesion only takes a few minutes. A full facial treatment takes 45 to 60 minutes.

■  Is the treatment painful? The treatment is not completely painless, but an analgesic or anaesthetic cream may be given in advance..

 ■ Advice for before the treatment? In order to prevent the skin from being brown coloured, we recommend not being out in the sun 4 weeks prior to treatment

 ■ Advice after treatment? After the treatment, we recommend not to sunbathe the first 3 weeks. Then use a good UVA / UVB SPF 50. After the treatment you will experience a burning sensation for 2 to 4 hours (severe sunburn). The skin is red and scabs occur, these will fall off naturally. After 4 to 7 days, the skin is well presentable.

■ How long do the results last? During the treatment, the skin is stimulated to collagen and elastin formation. This makes the skin younger. However, after the treatment, the aging process continues. On average, you will enjoy the result for 4 to 5 years. Smoking, sunlight and tanning accelerate the aging process.

■  How do I get a personalized price indication? During an interview we can compare your needs and expectations with the treatment options. This way we can give you a correct personal price indication.
■ What is a pigment spot? A pigment spot is a local increase in pigment cells in the skin. Causes: aging, sunlight, hormonal changes. Pigment stains can be treated very well with the fractional CO2 laser.

■ What are the risks of laser treatment? Each treatment has its risks. Skin infections may occur due to treatment of the skin. The skin may sometimes remain unnaturally red for a period of time. Occasionally pigment loss (white spots) may arise.

 ■ What is the difference between traditional CO2 treatment and the more recent Fractional CO2 laser treatment? The Fractional laser treatment is the newest form of CO2 laser treatment. During this treatment 200 to 300 holes per square cm with a depth of 0.1 mm to 1.0 mm in the skin are made with the laser. When the skin recovers new skin and new connective tissue is formed. So with each treatment, a fraction of the skin is replaced. Advantages of this treatment are: faster recovery, reduced redness, less pain, no wounds or blisters, and less anaesthesia is required. Also less risk of infection, scarring or colour change.
 ■ From a technical perspective, what is a CO2 laser?  A CO2 laser is an electric gas laser that emits infrared light (wavelength 9600 / 10600nm) by activation of CO2 molecules. Inside is a gas mixture of CO2, nitrogen, hydrogen gas and helium. With his infrared light pores can be made in the skin varying in number per square cm and depth.
